Great news for corps members serving in Nigeria! The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig Gen Yushau Ahmed, recently addressed corps members at the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp. During his speech, he assured them that their monthly allowance is set for an increase.
Brig Gen Ahmed explained that the allowance will be reviewed upwards once the ongoing minimum wage negotiations are finalized. He emphasized the importance of corps members and their contributions, stating that the Federal Government recognizes their value.
“For your allowance, don’t worry, as soon as the ongoing negotiation on the minimum wage is concluded, you can be so sure that your allowance too will definitely go up.
“There is no way the government will forget you because you are really special,” the NYSC DG said.
“Let me also remind you of the camp rules that you are not allowed to post the camp activities online or on social media, three of your colleagues elsewhere were found breaking these rules, posting camp activities on social media, and they have been decamped”, he added.
